110 is the police emergency telephone number

Information to be reported:

110 is the emergency telephone number.

Please only dial 110 when there is an emergency.

How to call 110 from a public telephone

When you use a public telephone (card telephone, yellow telephone, blue telephone,and red telephone operated by 10 yen coins) that has an emergency dial button：

Pick up the receiver, press the “Emergency Dial Button” and dial 110.

When you use a digital public telephone：

Pick up the receiver and press 110 after the tone.

Digital public telephones do not have a “Emergency Dial Button”but you can call 110 without a telephone card or coins.
